Ingredients:
1 pint strawberries, washed and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
Whipped cream to taste
Equipment:
Medium bowl
Large bowl
Measuring cups and spoons
Wooden spoon
Round cookie cutter

| Directions
1. Put the strawberries in the medium bowl and sprinkle them with the sugar.
2. In the large bowl, pour the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Stir in the milk and melted butter until the dough forms a ball.
4. Pat the dough out onto a clean surface to a 1-inch thickness.
5. Cut circles in the dough with the round cookie cutter.
6. Place the shortcakes on the baking sheet and bake them for 10 to 12 minutes. Then cool for 15 minutes. *
7. Spread each cake with whipped cream and top with strawberries!
