From the book
“One of the finest places to listen to these handsome sparrows is just up from the Pacific in the Point Reyes National Seashore, just north of San Francisco Bay, where these sparrows sing five or six different dialects. You can walk mile after mile of seashore listening to male after male, each echoing the next . . . within the same dialect.”

In these three selections, listen to three males singing essentially identical songs, as all three males are from the same dialect in the Point Reyes National Seashore. In the background of the second selection is still another male who countersings with the foreground male.
