Come visit us at Maker Faire!
If you’ve never been to the amazing spectacle that is Maker Faire we’re ordering you to pencil it in your calendar this second! Maker Faire is a two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It’s for creative, resourceful people of all ages and backgrounds who like to tinker and love to make things. Maker Faire will be happening on May 3rd and 4th and Chronicle will have a booth in both the food area and craft building. Swing by and visit us, say hi and be the first to see what we have coming on our list in the fall.
In addition to crafts and games we’ll have lots of our fabulous authors hanging out in both of our booths including:
Randy Stratton (Build this Bong)
Meg Mateo Ilasco (Craft Inc.)
Julia Myall (Cook it in a Cup)
Ruta Kahate (5 Spices, 50 Dishes)
Jennifer Carden (Toddler Cafe)
Jesse Cool (Simply Organic)
Tara Duggan (Pretty Pantry Gifts)
Ray Marshall (Castaway Pirates)
Lisa Katayama (Urawaza)
If you live in the area leave a comment below—on Tuesday we’ll randomly pick one lucky person who will win a pair of tickets to Maker Faire!
See you there!

My housemate turned me on to the Maker Faire, I’ve never been before and look forward to seeing some of the makers in person!
Gimme, gimme! I mean I would very much like to attend and free is mas bueno.
Never heard of it but love to make things and so does my son. Pick us, please! ;-)
I saw this advertised in ReadyMade magazine last year and couldn’t attend. Marking my calendar for this year.
I went last year and enjoyed all the techie projects, but the Crafts pavilion blew me away! Love to get a pair of tix…
MAKE magazine is great – so I’m excited about Maker Faire!
Wow! This sounds awesome! I’m a grad student in need of some sanity and this sounds like just they right prescription.
This looks like it’s definitely worth the drive!
Need to get out of town. An what a great way to spend the day!
I could learn something, too.
My sister went last year and had such a great time she’s taking me along this year! Looking forward to it.
I’m still jonesin’ to make that kite aerial rig I saw in an early Make issue… Would love to attend…
I would LOVE LOVE to win tickets. I’ve never been but this sounds really fun.
Sounds like a great event – need to get some ideas from the Toddler Cafe since we’ll be taking care of our 3-yr old niece in June…need to keep her occupied for a week! Thanks!
Sounds like a great event to appreciate DIY’ers and to get inspired.
Very excited for this year’s smorgasborg of crafty fun.
I first heard of this fair after last year’s had come and gone! I would love to see the great ideas and try my hand at some crafts again!
One comment for a chance to win free tickets to the Maker Faire? You’ve got a deal. Seriously, the Maker Faire last year was awesome, if you have a single strand of diy-dna in you, you should go.
Maker Fair is great fun, and it would be even greater fun with free tickets.
I’d love pass the tix on to my sis who lives in the area and who’d enjoy attending the Faire…
my husband is such a DIY person; he designs our own gardens (and plant everything himself with the houses we’ve lived in), remodels everything big and small himself, and have made friends along the way with really cool people who’re passionate about their own specialties and expertise in making / building / installing things. We would love to go to the fair, since it’s the first time we’ve heard about it. Thank you for letting us know !
Ooh ooh! Pick me!
i want to go to the faire!
it’s only faire to give out tickets to the faire.

I’m broke but want to go! Free tix, please!
