We’re on a countdown towards summer, but it’s still officially spring, and no time like the present to get kids excited about doing—oh no!—chores.

In honor of spring cleaning season, we’re giving away 10 copies of The Chore Board, which comes with a magnetic board, colorful character pieces, and a dry-erase marker. Just leave a comment below and we’ll choose winners at random on Friday, June 5th!

Good luck!

Puts the fun into the reality that kids and adults are in it together–that no one is a passenger on the “family cruise ship” but all are an active part of its crew!

I think this would definitely carry things right past the cry of “but I didn’t KNOW there was anything I was supposed to be doing!” ;) 10 people’s summers are going to be much improved, thank you!

My 18-year-old needs reminders that her bedroom at home is not her college dorm room. This just might do the trick!

  28. | Posted by Tim Kim

Sounds like fun! An interesting way to remind oneself.

I have five kids who have the work ethic of cats. Figuring out how get them to chase a ball of yarn would be great. I also coach Football and Basketball and would love to get my players to do some community chores. Our community gives them an opportunity to play, so how about something in return.

Excellent contest! My son is just entering the phase of earning an allowance, and helping out around the house more. This would come in handy. Thanks!

I so need a way to organize and track chores for my two boys. We do not do them regularly and I’m not always sure which chores they are capable of.

We plan for chores but don’t always follow through and get things done. This could help us move from good intentions to actual cleanliness.

  36. | Posted by Erin Tapken

This better work on husband or I might have to resort to a “honey-do” list!

  37. | Posted by Kyle

Lemme think…mix J. Otto with chores and fun for kids? Sounds good to me. I know 4 munchkins that would benefit from this one. Thanks!

  38. | Posted by Erin

    Chores = Allowance
Allowance = Saving up for what they want
What they want = a guinea pig

  39. | Posted by Terri

Oh, I know a couple of little darlings who could benefit from this! And it’s cool enough that they might even *LIKE* doing some chores!

The perfect book to keep the kids away from TV and video games for the summer. With teaching and grad school my wife and I need all the help we can get. Pass it on and we’ll have our kids in line just like you suggest :¬). Maybe I can get the neighbors kids to help too.

Only one more week until the kids are home for summer. And yet again, my summer resolution is to have them participate in the household maintenance. I’m hoping this would help to make the effort much more fun, for them and me!
