Travel the World with Nomad
Now that we’re already 6 weeks into 2012, I’m starting to think about where summer travel might take me this year. As I’m in the early stages of planning, I’ve found myself flipping through the beautiful pages of Sibella Court’s Nomad for inspiration. In this book, designer Sibella Court brings together two of my favorite things: travel and home décor. She explores far-flung destinations and shows readers how to incorporate these elements into their own interior spaces.
In my own home, I have a screen print I picked up in Portland’s Pearl District, a jewelry box from Brooklyn Flea, and beautiful old keys from the Paddington Market in Sydney, Australia. These are among my most treasured items so, needless to say, I’m completely on board with Sibella’s approach to interior style!
I’m not a globetrotting designer like Sibella, so I’m glad I have her book to not only show me how to create a more unique, interesting home, and also to motivate me to plan what will hopefully be the trip of a lifetime. As Sibella says, “Vacations are too few and far between. To have a piece of that experience and memory reflected in your interior – even the smallest incidental that makes you smile and takes you to another place – is what it’s all about.”
Where will you go this year? Tell us in the comments.
