Last week we received advance sample copies of a new non-cookbook food-themed item coming this fall, the Bread Journal. I was so excited when it landed on my desk, I did something I don’t customarily do—posted a photo of it to my Instagram feed.

If you regularly read these weekly Food and Drink posts and poke around the Chronicle website from time to time, you’re probably familiar with the gifty and innovative products we create that don’t happen to be books.
Some of the recent additions to Chronicle’s gift-formatted product have been created expressly for the food and drink lover. Here are a few that came out recently, plus a couple more previews of what’s coming this fall.
99 Bottles of Beer Journal Set
Are you a hophead? What microbrew was that from Iceland? Which Hitachino beer was that—the ginger-infused one? You don’t have to be stumped anymore with remembering what you imbibe with this smart set of guided beer journals.

Cheese Papers
Stylishly beautiful food-safe wrappings and display papers for your fromage/queso/formaggio fix.
Chicken and Egg: 10 Beautiful Prints Ready to Frame
Taken from Janice Cole’s excellent cookbook of the same name, these images would look stunning on any wall.
Chocolate Notepad
Can you spot the imposter notepad among my chocolate wrappers on the wall beside my desk?

Are you someone who diligently makes food and drink tasting, baking, and testing notes? Do you reverently wrap your cheeses after liberating them from supermarket plastic wrap? Do you love looking at chocolate as much as you enjoy eating it? Leave a comment and you’ll be eligible to win a set of all the items featured in this week’s post (offer valid in the US and Canada only).

I am on a mission to master 2 new soup and 2 new bread recipes for the fall as well as perfecting a few more desserts. This would be perfect for recording all my triumphs (and failures)!
I recently went to a beer tasting event. I would have loved to have that journal to record my favorites. I also love chocolate. That notepad is so cute!
We worked on a recipe for the Kid's White House State Lunch. It is amazing how many notes you have to work on one recipe.
Mmm, beer and chocolate for me, bread journal for my partner, who has been flirting with bread baking for the past year. Thanks for putting this offer out there!
I'm not a big note-taker on kitchen adventures, but I have several friends who are… thought of them immediately when I read this post. I AM a sucker for lovely food photos, however, and the egg prints look gorgeous.
My husband would love that Bread Journal!
Oh gracious, I think it's saying something when I book blog post makes me salivate. Now I just want to have bread, cheese, eggs, chocolate, and beer for dinner. (Why don't I have that every night for dinner?)
I think I actually like looking at these pictures, and other pictures of food (especially desserts) more than eating the food. I don't like cooking and I'm not a foodie (I like simple dishes), but I do love beautiful things. I like browsing through fancy cookbooks and admiring the pictures, but I wouldn't want to make any of the complicated dishes.
Julie, you are our winner for this giveaway – congrats, and enjoy them all!
+ thanks to our other commentators as well.
