From the Design Desk: A Tropical Trend
If you’ve been anywhere near Pinterest or a lifestyle blog in the past month, you’ll know that tropical fruit is having a major moment. Pineapples, watermelons, bananas, and the like have been showing up on everything from notecards to wallpaper. I’ve been saving examples on a trend pinboard and it’s hard to keep up with the surge of tutti frutti fun.
My colleague Kristen Hewitt spotted pineapples galore at this year’s National Stationery Show in New York and surmised that after an especially brutal winter, illustrators were eager to depict tropical and sunny subject matter.
We have two notecard sets coming out soon, which feature illustrations of our favorite tropical fruits:

What do you think of the tropical fruit abundance? Are pineapples the new foxes? I’m personally hoping this summery, tropical trend will stick around long enough to help get me through another cold and foggy San Francisco summer!
