My roommate reminded me that I need to write a review of one of our favorite Chronicle cookbooks. Like, now. Well, let me just say that every soup recipe within is pure gold! She’s vegan and I’m a sometimes meat eater, but it doesn’t really matter where you fall on the veggie spectrum – all of these dishes are tasty and beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, an additional perk of buying this book (besides the delicious recipes for “Spicy Green Bean and Potato Stew” or “Fresh Pea Soup”) are the stunning photos of the foodstuff. I have trouble trusting cookbooks without photos since it makes me wonder, what are the chefs trying to hide? No need to worry with this one. Chronicle is known for their remarkable food photography and they truly outdid themselves for this collection.
