Annie Decker has worked for many years as a writer and editor. A decade ago, Annie put together her grandparents' oral histories to preserve their stories. She is thrilled that other families can do the same by using this book. Currently completing her master's degree research on senior citizens' transportation and homecare needs, Annie will be starting law school in fall 2004.

Nicole Burke Stephenson lives and writes in Oakland, California. She comes from two generations of autobiography-writing women, her great-grandmother, Billie Burke Ziegfeld (With a Feather on My Nose), and her grandmother, Patricia Ziegfeld Stephenson (Ziegfeld's Girl). She is deeply grateful to them and to all of her grandparents for sharing with her their love, wisdom and experience.
