I Love the Rain: Meet the Author
I was born in New York City and moved with my family to Portland, Oregon, when I was seven years old. I went east to Bowdoin College, where I met my future husband, Alan. He and I lived in New York City for a while, and in Louisiana, but finally settled in Massachusetts. We have two fantastic daughters, Holly and Emma, "who make everything worthwhile," as I wrote in one of my dedications, and it's true!
I have called my having children a "career move" because I never thought to write books for children until I started reading them every day. There has been little more rewarding in my life than watching my daughters learn to read using a book that I wrote!
