Joan Holub's right hand has written and illustrated over 120 books for children. So far, her left hand has shown no writing talent, and prefers to spend most of its time lazing around in lavish costume jewelry. Joan enjoys thumbwrestling and handtools, and is often seen wearing garden gloves, oven mitts, or glittery fingernail polish, depending on the occasion. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, who is a handsome FingerPrints, in a house made of tasty finger food.

Johanna Hurwitz wrote more than 50 books for and about children before she wrote the first Park Pals story PeeWee's Tale. Told from the point of view of a guinea pig, it tells the story of an animal who finds himself abandoned in a city park. Luckily he is quickly befriended and helped by Lexi, a squirrel with lots of street smarts. Squirrel World is the fourth book in this series. The books have been on the master list for several children's choice state awards, and in 2005 won the "Land of Enchantment Award" from New Mexico.
A former children's librarian, Johanna Hurwitz divides her time between Great Neck, NY and Wilmington, VT. She is married and has two grown children, three grandchildren, and one cat. A frequent speaker at schools, Ms. Hurwitz has spoken in 44 states and hopes to one day speak in all 50. In addition, she has spoken at many international schools in places such as India, South Africa, Morocco, Spain, Hungary, Poland and Belgium.
