Plate Trick and Bag of Tricks

Plate Trick: The materials you will need are: 3 paper plates Colored markers Directions: 1. Draw a different-colored circle on the bottom side of each paper plate. 2. Show your audience both sides of the three paper plates. You've secretly out a tiny dot on the topside rim of each plate. 3. Mix up the order of the plates, then set them down, making sure each dot is in the same position. 4. Turn your back to the audience. Have a friend pick a plate and show it to the audience. 5. Turn around and tell the audience which plate your friend picked by noting which dot moved.

Bag of Tricks: The materials you will need are: Brown bag Deck of cards Penny Directions: 1. Secretly place any playing card in brown bag. 2. Have someone pick a card from the same deck. Show it to the audience, then drop it in the bag. Add a penny. 3. Pull out the first card you hid in the bag, face down, hiding the penny behind the card you're pulling out. Don't let the audience see what the card is. Slip the penny and the card into your pocket. 4. Ask the audience what is left in the bag (they'll say a penny). 5. Surprise the audience by pulling out your friend's card and turning the bag over--no penny!
