What kind of books does Chronicle publish?
Chronicle Books specializes in award-winning, innovative books for adults and children. How can I receive one of your catalogs?
If you are interested in receiving one of our most recent Adult Trade (our
main catalog), Children's, Gift, and/or catalogs for any of our distribution clients,
simply email your name and address to: customer.service@hbgusa.com. Don't forget
to specify which catalog you would like.
How can I get an examination or desk copy for a class I am teaching?
Examination or desk copies are available to teachers seeking titles for classroom adoption purposes. All requests are subject to review in accordance with each publisher's policies.
To request a copy, please send an email to academic@chroniclebooks.com for consideration.
Do you offer premium sales?
If you are interested in volume purchases for corporate gift or marketing initiatives, please e-mail us at premiumsales@chroniclebooks.com.
How do I get permissions to use images/copy from one of your books?
If you seek permission to use a portion of one of our titles, please proceed
with the permission
request page. If you
wish to acquire any subsidiary rights (including foreign/translation, performance,
merchandising, book club/book fair, reprint, electronic, etc.) to the entire
work, please email details to subrights@chroniclebooks.com.
Chronicle Books only accepts written permission requests. Please be sure to indicate which title(s) you are interested in and what material you would like to use (including page numbers), as well as complete details regarding the use and your project. General permissions turnaround time is 4-8 weeks; however, you may request an immediate review (two business days) for a $100 rush fee.

What is your donations/corporate giving policy?
At the heart of Chronicle Books' mission is the belief that we make a significant
contribution to peoples' lives by delivering top-quality books and gifts. We
also endeavor to make a difference with our good citizenship. Through our Corporate
Giving programs, we are able to give something back to the communities in which
we live and work.
Corporate Contributions
In recent years, Chronicle Books has supported many organizations whose programs
enrich lives, foster learning, and expand educational opportunities including:

Eligibility
Chronicle will consider an organization's application to our Corporate Contributions
program if it meets certain criteria: the organization must be a non-profit
organization with 501?(3) status and should have a primary mission that
falls into at least one the following categories:
- Publishing Industry Related
- Literacy
- Literature
- Cultural
- Art/Design Education and training
- Other Educational
Chronicle Books will consider donations to organizations outside of these areas. Chronicle often makes donations that are either related to individual titles for organizations whose requests for books or aid are modest and compelling.
Chronicle will consider corporate contributions to individuals or direct grants to schools, colleges or universities under special circumstances and on a case-by-case basis. In addition, Chronicle makes substantial contributions to the academic community throughout the year.
Applicants should submit a proposal in writing on their organization's letterhead to:

Donation requests must include date needed by, a brief description of your organization, specific items desired (if possible), and your organization's tax ID number.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Only those organizations whose requests are granted will be contacted.

If you need to contact one of our authors or artists, you can send a letter
or fax to their attention at the address below ?we will be happy to
forward it on to them.

How can I get a review copy of one of your books?
If you would like to request a review copy of any of our titles, fax in your request on your company's letterhead to 415-537-4470. Please address your fax to the Publicity Department and include your mailing and UPS address. If you are a children's book reviewer, please send your request on your publication letterhead to the attention of Adam Schwartz c/o Chronicle Books at 680 Second Street, San Francisco, CA 94107. Also, please note that not all books are available for review
