Bill Miller has a long and distinguished career in the retail and marketing industry, working most recently as a consultant for a diverse range of brands and clients including Jonathan Adler, New York Times, Direct Brands, Lightwedge, Rodale and Moleskine USA. Prior to that he was a Vice President of Merchandising, Gift, Product Development and Calendars at Barnes & Noble.

Sarah Malarkey Named Executive Editorial Director at Chronicle Books

Ginee Seo Named Children’s Publishing Director at Chronicle Books
San Francisco, CA. March 22, 2011 Chronicle Books has appointed Ginee Seo as Children’s Publishing Director. She’ll be attending the Bologna Children’s Book Fair on the publisher’s behalf and her first day at the company’s San Francisco offices will be May 12th.

Ginee has had a long and distinguished career in the children’s book industry, most recently as Vice President and Editorial Director at Atheneum where she had her own imprint. Before her eight-year tenure at Simon & Schuster, she worked at HarperCollins for ten years, ultimately as Vice President, Editorial Director, where she launched The Series of Unfortunate Events. The many critically acclaimed titles she has edited include Nic Sheff's New York Times bestselling memoir Tweak, Eisner Award-winner Hope Larson’s graphic novel Chiggers, Garth Nix’s celebrated fantasy Lirael, Chris Lynch's NBA finalist Inexcusable, Charles R. Smith Jr's My People, winner of the 2010 Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration, and Forever Young, a picture book based on the song by Bob Dylan.

Yuyi Morales, illustrator and author of Just a Minute, was named the winner of the 2004 Pura Belpré Illustrator Award, which honors Latino authors and illustrators whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in a children's book. The Man Who Went to the Far Side of the Moon, by Bea Uusma Schyffert, was chosen as a Mildred L. Batchelder Honor Book, which recognizes the most outstanding children's books originally published in a foreign language and subsequently translated into English for publication in the United States.
