May 2nd, 2008 | by David Belisle |Patti Smith’s Retrospective at the Cartier Foundation. Patti was there & it was so great to see her & Michael walk through the crazy crowded galleries. She stood proud & her artwork (from 1967 to present) was so crazy good, seems whatever comes from that wonderful woman is inspiring. It was a mixture of poetry, installation, film, photographs, & drawings, and a beautiful dark wall of unlit photographs for & from her great friend Robert Mapplethorpe. amazing.
