A Most Excellent Book!
10/11/11| mary bayarIntroduction to Architectural Technology miraculously appeared on my practice’s shelves and now we are all scrambling to use it. Luckily, it’s orange and you can spot it straight away! It’s rather like a Metric Handbook of structures. In particular, the structural diagrams are extremely useful as a source of design inspiration. And the case studies (Prouve’s Tropical House, Nervi’s Palazetto Dello Sport, Otto’s German Pavillion, and Buckminster’s US Pavillion and Nox’s D-Tower) make for a nice, relaxing, and still thought-provoking, read.
