Andrew Haslam graduated from the Royal College of Art, London, in 1987. Since then he has run his own studio, creating science, history and geography textbooks for children. In 1994 he won the American Institute of Physics Award for best science writing, and in 1997 the Geographical Society Gold Medal for most significant contribution to geography. Having taught at several colleges in the UK, he is now course leader of the MA Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London
