Eagle Eyes10/11/11| Paul PryI had wanted this book for a number of years. Dec 2008 I was gifted a copy.
I would describe myself as an inept bird watcher. Always curious what bird song I was hearing. This is an excellant book. The only improvements I would suggest would be the Index of birds should be in much larger print, my eyes are past thier prime and when I am trying to fumble with binoculars while kepping track of a bird in a tree while donning reading glasses to find a birds name to locate the page; well, it alll becomes a bit much. Second suggestion for improvement BOLD the birds common name.
Example Robin; in the index birds are listed alphabetical so I'm looking under the R's but Robin is under A; as in American Robin. Fine keep it so but, IF the word Robin in American Robin was bolded under A's I suspect it would be easier to find. A very fine book. Highly

Gorgeous, Interactive Book for Birders10/11/11| Marcia ScurfieldWe just did an art project at my school about Kansas birds and all but one of the 26 species were in this book. My students loved hearing the bird call that "their" bird made. Plus there was information about the bird and his habitat and a beautiful illustration. Discover the birds who live in your neighborhood by the sounds they make.
