Simplicity and Wonder
10/11/11| Margaret PerryEmily's Balloon is one of the simplest and lovliest books published in recent years. With gentleness, Sakai's concise prose and charming illustrations introduce to children the delight of an active imagination. I read it to a young girl, and she was captivated by the story; she too had played in a similar way with a ball or balloon, and was thrilled to see someone else do the same. The universality of the story only adds to it's charms.
