Leading Ladies Lead the Way

10/11/11| Andy Parr
What an excellent book packed full of punchy facts and detail about 50 top movie stars of the Studio era. Each star has four pages dedicated to them. The first is a full page photograph, all of which are first rate and most of which are rare or seldom seen studio portraits, Page two is a monograph of around 400 words detailing their life and career. Then page three gives a selection of the key movies of their career and page four provides "style notes" and a look at the star off-screen, title "behind the scenes" With more interesting pictures, these pages are a wonderful introduction to stars you may think you know well and others you may know less so. You are sure to find out something you didn't know about almost every one of the 50 Leading Ladies represented here. Overall, a fantastic labor of love and a real jewel amongst so many ordinary movie books around today.
