Fascinating AND Functional

Fascinating AND Functional

10/30/13| Linda
I bought this at my local independent bookstore. They had just received it and it was shrink-wrapped so they were not sure exactly what it was-so we opened it. And I purchased it immediately. One of my small, personal goals was to send a letter or note to family and friends rather than relying on an impersonal email. I immediately found 3 cards that were perfect for 3 close friends who were English majors with me in college a long time ago (we graduated in 1979). I had taken a course on Virginia Wolfe with one friend so shot her a quick note on the back of one of her books. Another friend got "War and Peace" (we had struggled through that course together). My 85-year-old father got "Treasure Island" which was the first book he read aloud to me and my sister when we were under 5 years of age but he was tired of Dr. Seuss. It is just such a unique way to send a brief note to a friend. Everyone who received one was thrilled. The bookstore ended up ordering a dozen more. It's a small store but they sold quickly. What a clever idea and a great gift or something to buy for yourself.
