    My friend, Shirley, gave me Poetry Dog Tags on my birthday. She found it in a pet store and she has no pets. On the first day of this year, I began picking one random dog tag each day, photographing it and writing a haiku.

    This is truly a gift that challenges me creatively every day of my 66th year. I wonder what word I'll pick tomorrow?
