642 Creative Challenge: Draw a Celebration or Write About an Unexpected Gift

It’s time for the next creative challenge inspired by the 642 series (642 Things to Draw, 642 Things to Write About, and other sources of endless quirky inspiration). This is the ultimate series to help you get creative every single day. Each journal is filled with quirky prompts, meaning you never have to draw a blank!

Here is your challenge this time:

DRAW a celebration
WRITE about an unexpected gift

It’s the most festive time of the year, so this month we want you to draw a celebration and share your illustration with the world. Not much of an artist? Try our writing prompt instead—tell us about an unexpected gift and wow us with your words.

All entries need to include the hashtag #642things and tag @chroniclebooks! The winner will receive a copy of 642 Tiny Things to Draw, 642 Things to Draw, 712 More Things to Draw, and a set of Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

Here’s some celebratory inspiration from senior designer, Neil Egan.

642 Creative Challenge

Thank you so much to everyone who entered our last creative challenge; your treasure chests were beyond precious. See below for our winning entry featuring a treasure chest by a 6 year-old, which is full of his favorite thing: candy, candy, candy!

We don’t have any winners in the writing category this time…I guess you haven’t been subject to many bad dates. (We’re happy for you, if that’s the case!)

While I have you, did you know 642 is on Tumblr? We’re surfacing our favorite pieces of content inspired by the 642 series and would love to feature you! Tag us and use the hashtag #642things or use the handy submit feature on Tumblr. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
