Editorial Fellowship, Children’s
Chronicle Books is looking for an Editorial Fellow to assist the Children’s editors by working on books for readers up to18 years old, including board books, picture books, chapter books, middle grade, as well as novelty items, games, and journals.
The role will have a variety of responsibilities, which may include evaluating manuscripts, aiding in submissions, sorting and sending out decline notices as needed, drafting copy and acquisition topsheets, preparing sales materials, helping with mailings, attending meetings, and handling other administrative tasks. All Fellows must be highly organized, flexible, and be able to multitask. Editorial or copywriting experience is a plus, but not required.
The expected term of service for this temporary, full time, hourly, non-exempt, 37.5 hour/week position will be through June, 2022. The job will accrue vacation at the rate of 2 weeks per year, and includes full medical, dental and vision benefits.

While this is currently a remote position, the expectation is that this San Francisco-based role will eventually move back in-house when it is safe to do so. We will also consider qualified candidates that are outside the Bay Area, and who are able to work remotely for the entire length of the Fellowship.
