Chronicle Books is looking for a Sales & Marketing Assistant to support our Sales and Marketing Enablement team in San Francisco. In this role, the Assistant will provide day-to-day project support to the Sales & Marketing departments (80%) by working with Production, Design, Editorial, Sales, and Marketing to secure, create, and coordinate the distribution of physical and digital sales materials and sales kits. In addition, this role will organize and maintain the book sample room, work with the Event Coordinator on trade shows, and support in-house sales meetings (live and virtual). The Assistant will also provide administrative support to two executives as needed (20%), including meeting scheduling and prep, report/document distribution, note-taking, department event support, and ad hoc projects.

Candidates should have a minimum of one year’s experience in a support role, and customer service and/or retail experience is highly valued. In addition, this role will need a robust productivity skillset, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite, and an ability to change focus quickly and adjust priorities when the situation demands. Candidates must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. Preferred candidates will have a deep passion for books and publishing, a desire to provide exceptional project support, and an enthusiasm for working with innovative products and learning about the publishing industry.
