Chronicle Books has an opening for a Sales Assistant who will provide efficient day-to-day administrative and project support to Account Managers and members of our Sales department. The Sales Assistant will manage competing deadlines, they will re-focus quickly when the situation demands it, and they will provide overall exceptional task support.

The job will involve routing account purchase orders, liaising with contacts at key accounts, assisting in sales call preparation, providing support for our trade sales conferences, and supporting the Specialty team by researching new leads and contacts. The Sales Assistant will also update records in Salesforce, coordinate sales materials, compile and transmit title information and image files, and distribute weekly sales analysis using various data portals.

 Candidates will need effective written and verbal communication skills, an ability to prioritize and multi-task, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively. Advanced Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are strongly preferred, and prior experience with Salesforce.com is also a plus. A minimum of 1 year of previous work experience is preferred as is customer service and/or retail experience. Strong candidates have a deep passion for books and publishing and a desire to work in a high-performing, collaborative, team environment.
