Chronicle Books is looking for a Social Media Manager to manage our Adult and Children’s trade social channels and online social media campaigns. In collaboration with Marketing Managers and Publicists, they will execute effective online marketing plans and build sales with the aim of gaining brand visibility, segmenting our audience based on consumer behavior and interest, and growing market share.

The Social Media Manager will be involved in organic social media management, paid social advertising, and launching new platforms. They will share data analysis, oversee influencer campaign management and they will develop publishing group cross-promotions and online partnerships.

Candidates will need at least 2 years of social media marketing experience and people management experience. They should have a strong understanding of current online strategies and best practices and they will have the ability to effectively communicate with all employee levels and with outside agencies. In this role, they will need to be organized, detail-oriented, creative, energetic, and possess a clear and professional writing style. This position is for a multi-tasking, tactful, self-starter with a strong understanding of paid social and first-party e-commerce. Fluency in Excel (pivots, shortcuts, etc….) and experience building performance are also required.
