Chronicle Books has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Marketing Manager based in San Francisco. This role will create, execute, and implement retail marketing strategies and activities that will drive our revenue growth. The Retail Marketing Manager will also partner with accounts in order to develop long-term strategic partnerships and will act as Chronicle Books’ in-house retail expert. Working across all our publishing divisions, this role will translate our brand and title marketing campaigns to the retail level with the goal of promoting our products and enhance the Chronicle brand


We are looking for candidates who have previous experience developing, supporting, and evolving a brand's retail presence. Successful candidates will have the ability to analyze customer sales data and develop programs that drive sales while tracking and demonstrating real success as well as the ability to generate new ideas and influence marketing effectiveness. Candidates should understand ROI and have the ability to assess marketing initiatives’ impact on business and maximize their return.


Applicants should have at least 4-6 years of experience in marketing consumer brands, through agency or in-house work. They should have a proven track record of creating and executing successful campaigns, strong relationship building skills and the ability to work well with all departments. Our ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who understands our own as well as our customers’ business needs and goals with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent tracking, and follow-up.
