The world has been overrun by hitherto-unknown beasts. The sequel to the shudderingly terrifying international horror hit!

We last left Abdi and Alva on the edge of survival, fleeing on a small boat out to sea with the beasts on their heels. In Beasts: Nowhere to Run, their desperate journey continues. When they are rescued by a ship and taken to the Shetland Islands, hope blossoms for the siblings. Could this be the island their father was on? Could he still be alive? They are placed in a refugee camp with hundreds of others and here they feel safe from the beasts—for now.

But one evening it turns out that Shetland isn't as far from the mainland as one might think. The beasts attack, and Abdi and Alva are on the run again, headed for the other human encampment to warn them and hopefully find their dad. The first book in this universe was praised by Foreword as combining ""the timelessness of a fairy tale with the stark immediacy of contemporary dystopian fiction"" and by Horn Book as ""sleek and elegant, a subtle blend of fable and realism."" Here, Ingvild Bjerkeland gives us another gripping chapter.
