Discover the warmth of Japanese home cooking through one family's cherished recipe collection. Created by the Otsu sisters from their Obaachan's (grandmother's) handwritten notebooks, these pages share 60 comforting recipes passed down through generations, along with heartwarming stories that reveal the traditions behind their beloved dishes, from celebratory New Year's Ozoni (soup) and silky Chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) to Hamburger Steak with glazed carrots and snow peas, and delicate Strawberry Blancmange.

Alongside appetizers, soups, mains, desserts, and special occasion dishes, readers will learn the foundations of Japanese cuisine, including essential ingredients, cooking techniques, and the art of thoughtful presentation. Filled with photography, illustrations, handwritten recipes, and personal ephemera, this special book is both a practical guide to Japanese cooking and a celebration of family, tradition, and the joy of sharing a home-cooked meal.
