Mariana Ruiz Johnson studied fine art and the illustration of books for children. She has been published as an author and illustrator all around the world and currently lives on the outskirts of Buenos Aires with her husband and two children. XOLO, with Donna Barba Higuera, received five starred reviews, was named to ten best-of-year lists, and had its artwork praised as “impeccable, resplendent,” “boldly colorful,” and “irresistible.” Her chapter book graphic novel The Little Wizard publishes simultaneously in English and Spanish in Spring 2027.

Antonio Gonzalez Cerna is a translator, interpreter, and writer. When he's not writing, he's busy daydreaming at his day job (Shhh don't tell his boss!). A Texas native, he now splits his time between Jersey City and a small town in the Western Catskills.
