Building the Perfect Paper Taco

Happy Cinco de Mayo mis amigos! Today many major cities in the United States will celebrate Mexican culture and heritage with parades, street festivals, Mexican cuisine and mariachi music. Best Taco Tuesday ever!

In celebration of this festive celebration, we invite you to take a peek behind the scenes at all the work that went into styling and photographing the perfect taco for our Taco Time Notecards—you can share with your friends for a fun and tasty Cinco de Mayo greeting.

Without divulging to many of her trade secrets, here are some close-ups of professional Food Stylist Fanny Pan to show the intricate and intimate process of styling the perfect ground beef taco. That’s right, she used a painter’s palette knife to apply the ground beef and tweezers to apply the lettuce.

Our finished cards are perfect representations of our favorite types of tacos: ground beef, carnitas, shrimp and veggie. With a sticker sheet of classic taco garnishes (jalapeños, salsa, cilantro, and of course limes), we’ve created a solid tribute to the beloved taco for taco-lovers everywhere. ¡Que Bueno!

This was a photoshoot for some notecards we designed and not a craft project, but we’re sure with a little creativity you could come up with a great paper recipe!
